SJ ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Philippe Beaudette <[email protected]> Date: Fri, Jul 23, 2010 at 4:27 PM Subject: [Wikinews-l] Kicking off the 2010-2011 fundraiser Hi All, I want to start a conversation about the 2010-2011 Fundraiser. It won't launch for a few months, but we want community involvement early and often. We plan for "many small gifts" to be the heart of our funding strategy. Our community fundraiser is one central method by which we support the projects. The fundraiser this year will probably be focused on banners. We will emphasize testing and changing ideas. The most important part is what our community is good at: thinking, researching, and improving. Anyone can join and help at any time. But we need people who are willing to be involved throughout the fundraiser ... people who want to be creative and willing to learn from the past ... people who want to serve as an active part of the fundraiser team. There will be Foundation staff deeply involved in this, but we are looking for people from the community to join and help us design this campaign. If you want to help, would you add your name to http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fundraising_2010/Committee ? We will be in contact - soon - to get things started. Thanks, Philippe ____________________ Philippe Beaudette Head of Reader Relations Wikimedia Foundation [email protected] ofc: +1 415 839 6885 (x 643) mobile: 918 200 WIKI (9454) Imagine a world in which every human being can freely share in the sum of all knowledge.
