I'm sorry if this has been already discussed but I don't remember.
The appeals now read "a donation of $20, €30, ¥4,000, or whatever they 
can to keep Wikipedia free" (e.g. 
http://meta.wikimedia.org/?diff=2234129&oldid=2234128 ).
Is this a way to encourage translators to localize currencies, or we 
really want to stress that we accept donations in many currencies, or is 
this meant only for the English text? Do we have stats on the effects of 
  different currency proposals?
