Dear Treg Members Scott's reply reminded me of a contract I worked on back in the early 80's. We wanted to put a several hundred foot telemetry mast on a small Scottish island.
The meteorological boffins advised us there had not been any recorded lighting strikes since the mid sixties. Once the mast had been erected lighting strikes were almost a daily occurrence.
