It is not clear from your equipment description if type approval is
necessary or not.
If your device is designed to connect to the public switched telephone
network in the U.S.A., then you will need to have it approved as per
FCC rules in 47CFR Part 68. These rules mandate compliance to the
telephone terminal equipment (TTE) technical criteria and labeling
requirements adopted by the Administrative Council for Terminal
Attachment (ACTA). Compliance can be demonstrated either by obtaining
a certification from a Telecom Certification Body (TCB) or by following
the Supplier's Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) route.
