Hello John, I am interested in knowing if this affects ITE. Specifically ethernet , tokin ring and ATM products that do not connect directly to a phone line.
Dear TREG members, Per the attached message Stewart Davidson of the European Commission DGXIII will be attending the next AEA Europe meeting on 16th July to cover the forthcoming CTE Directive. If you have questions in advance please send them to me and I'll endeavour to get them answered. If you'd like to attend please contact Kevin_Prager/[email protected]. Cheers JohnS............ ------------ ORIGINAL ATTACHMENT -------- SENT 06-18-96 FROM SMTPGATE (Kevin_Prager/[email protected]) sendmail: header truncated 15 lines Dear Standards On-Line Network, Stewart Davidson of CEC DGXIII will be a guest speaker at the next AEA Europe Standards and Certification meeting in Brussels on 16th July. He will talk about the CTE Directive which proposes considerable changes to the approvals process of telecomm products. These changes will have impact for manufacturers, for ITE, communications and associated products. There have been questions about extending the principles of the Product Liability Directive, the role of Notified bodies in the future, the use of de-facto standards and what 'Essential Requirements' will need to be satisfied. In anticipation of the event please send me (at [email protected]) your questions for DGXIII and I will consolidate them and pass them onto Stewart Davidson. The topic under discussion will be the CTE Directive but if you have queries or comments on the application of the existing TTE Directive legislation please include those as well. Cheers JohnS..........
