My information is 3 months old and highly specific. 
I worked at a company that was beginning negotiations for sale within Russia.  
What part specifically? I don't know. But, it was presumably near Moscow.

The bottom line I got from our sales force was: If you have CE approval - OK. 

Yes, they are not a part of the EU.  
But, the people we were talking to approved CE approval. 

My advice to them was to be extremely careful. 
My concern was and always is with customer contract negotiations.
