I have an application which uses one of a variety of approved/registered modems
depending upon the location shipped. The configuration is a rack. The
question I have is what modifications (if any) can be done before the
approval/registrations of the modems would be affected?

I usually require that the modem(s) be mounted in such a way that the
connectors of the modem are directly accessible through the chassis. Is it
permissible to add a new connector to the chassis and a short length of cable
to plug into the connectors provided on the modem. I know this affects
emmissions, but what about the Telecom registrations and European approvals for
the modems. Does this violate part 68 or other European requirements for the
modems requiring them to be re-registered?
