As far as I know the VN4 is not yet Euro ISDN. Hence the reason for the
deltas, which as Nick says have now been withdrawn as a regulatory
requirement. It was withdrawn as a result of pressure from the commission
and not because of a change of the network. The deltas CSE P-1020A & CSE
P-1021A still exist as voluntary standards. I do know that Euro ISDN
products will work on VN4 but not on VN3 services. VN3 products will work
on VN3 or VN4. In France you can still order VN3 or VN4. I think.

Best regards

In answer to some of your questions. The French delta requirement was
removed as of September 1996. Therefore CE X marked products can be
used. From what I was told a while ago the VN4 is the French Euro Numeres
service which is Euro ISDNVN3 is the original French ISDN with regards to
the % of the installed base I do not know.Nic Hughes----- Previous Message

TREGers, I would like to understand BRI approval requirements and switch
designations in France. We have gained European approvals on a BRI
product in the past, but I suspect things have changed since then, thus
would like the latest. Any answers to the following questions, as well as
any other information that may be useful would be appreciated. - How
common are VN3 switches? VN4? (i.e. 60/40%) - Is VN4 equivalent to I-CTR3
- Euro ISDN? If not, what is the French designation for Euro ISDN? - Is
VN3+ an interim between VN3 and VN4, or another name for VN4? (or
neither?) - Can Euro ISDN (CEX) approval be used in France without delta
testing? (realizing the product is only certified for use on Euro ISDN
networks) Thanks in advance for your responses, Barry Marks, Sr.
