Subject: USA and Japanese Acoustic Levels
Mime-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: Text/Plain

Hello TREGers

I am looking for some help, what are the acoustic levels required for Japan?

Our US design is based on RS 470-A Telephone Instruments with Loop Signaling
which references the IEEE 269-1983 Method for Measuring Transmission
Performance of Telephone Sets.

Does anyone know what Japanese standards are similar to the above standards?

We have sent product to Japan with our US design and have had a few field
complaints that the user is unable to hear the outside party.

Customer satisfaction is an important part of any business. You help is
appreciated.

Thanks
