The Bellcore Analog Display Interface Specification (ADSI) requirements can be found in Bellcore FR-12 which includes the two main documents:
TR-NWT-001273 : Generic Requirements for an SPCS to Customer Premises Equipment Data Interface for Analog Display Services. (This covers Layer 2 (datalink Layer) and Layer 3 (Message layer) SR-INS-002461 : Customer Premises Equipment Compatibility Considerations for the Analog Display services Interface. (This covers the Abstract CPE concept, timer values, signal levels, events etc) ADSI covers two categories of applications: Server Display Control: This type of application provides the means for a remote server to communicate interactively with a user. eg. access to Bank accounts, Tourist information, Travel bookings ... Feature Download: This type of application enables a network based server to download call state dependent and other CPE-resident scripts into a CPE so as to provide a user friendly interface to Advanced Call Management Services such as three way conference call, Call Waiting Deluxe. The European ETSI standards organisation are currently drafting a similar specification, Server Display and Script Services (SDSS), work item DE/TE-05062-3, based on the Bellcore docs, but modified to include European network signalling events, timer values and physical access requirements. Caller ID is a separate, but related, specification, which the ADSI docs make references to. An ADSI terminal is generally expected to include Caller ID services. Hope this helps.
