There is a working group under TIA ( the Telecommunications Industry Association) TR41.9 committee, chaired by Pierre Adornato of NORTEL ([email protected]) who is formulating the network harm requirements for ADSL for inclusion in FCC Part 68 which is the mandatory standard for the US. It is anticipated that the work will be finished in mid 1997, after which a petition for rulemaking will be submitted to the Commission, most likely from TIA. In Canada, ADSL may currently be certified under the Canadian CS-03 mandatory standard metallic channel requirements. These requirements are part of those that did not get "harmonized" with the FCC Part 68. CS-03 Standard may be down-loaded from the Industry Canada web site. TR41.9 committee's next meeting is scheduled for Dec 10-11 in San Diego, CA and ADSL is on the agenda. You might also want to obtain a copy of ANSI T1.413 Standard dealing with ADSL.
