Inchcape P.L.C. said yesterday that it had sold its industrial testing business to Charterhouse Development Capital Ltd., a private firm, for 380 million pounds, or about $585 million. The sale is part of a plan by Inchcape to concentrate on its main international trading business which deals in such goods as cars, food, liquor and clothing.
