Our drawing office believes there is a complete ban
on the use of cadmium plating, but cannot provide 
chapter and verse. Our company here in the UK
stopped using it about 5 years ago and changed to
zinc and passivate for fastners. Cadmium plated 
fastners have certainly disappeared from distributors
catalogues. I will try and trace the origin of this ban.
