The Product Liability Directive is 85/374/EEC. It was published in the
Official Journal ref: OJ L210 of 7-Aug-1985 and came into force on
30-Jul-1988. It was and carried into UK Law as The Consumer Protection Act
1987 which came into force 1-Mar-1988 Related is the General Product Safety
Directive 92/59/EEC published in the Official Jounal ref: OJ L228 of

by The General Product Safety Regulations 1994 Statutory Instrument 1994
