It was published in the Official Journal ref: OJ L210 of 7-Aug-1985 and came into force on 30-Jul-1988. It was and carried into UK Law as The Consumer Protection Act 1987 which came into force 1-Mar-1988 Related is the General Product Safety Directive 92/59/EEC published in the Official Jounal ref: OJ L228 of 11-Aug-1992 and came into force on 29-Jun-1994 and was carried into UK Law by The General Product Safety Regulations 1994 Statutory Instrument 1994 No.2328 which came into force 3-Oct-1994.
