Hi folks,

We are in the process of producing an installation manual for our
small PEBX. More specifically we are attempting to produce a 'basic
rate wiring practice' document. While I.430 is a many splendid thing,
it is unsuitable as an installation guide. What we need is a document
which simplifies matters such as:

1 Practical cabling and lengths, the number of terminals for
different grades of cable, and for the 4 different connection schemes
(ie. point-to-point, extended passive bus, short passive bus, short Y
bus), etc.

2 Exact nature of cable connections, ie. length (if any) of spurs
to wall sockets, length of cable to TEs, type of sockets available
with/without terminating resistors, etc.

3 Provision of transient protection devices on exposed routes,
etc.

4 Suitable means of controlling informal 'patching' to existing S
bus networks, especially where ISDN cabling shares regular telephone
cabling ducting, etc.

I'm sure that there is a wealth of practical information out there
that we have not begun to think about yet. Possibly some TREGGERS
may be able to advise of personal problems, existing specs, etc., or
who could point me at someone who can be of assistance.

PS. I appologise for some mail that may have 'bounced' off our
gateway recently. We had an extensive fire that destroyed our
computer installation. As a result it has taken a while and some bump
starts to get going. All is now well again.

Thanks,
