Can anybody tell me some more about the impedance of shielded and unshielded
category 5 cable? This is the information I (think I) know:

Category 5 UTP
-has 100 Ohms Characteristic Impedance

Category 5 STP
-has a foil and braid shield around all four pairs.
-can be made to be 100 or 120 Ohms

Category 5 FTP (foil twisted pair)
-has a foil shield around all four pairs.
-can be made to be 100 or 120 Ohms
-120 Ohm used widely in France

Can anybody tell me whether this is correct?
Does anybody know where I can get some definative information about these
cables?
Which is the most popular in Telco applications?

Thanks very much.
