Doug CTR 12 is the attachment requirements for 2 048 kbit/s digital unstructured leased line. TBR 13 is the draft attachment requirements for 2 048 kbit/s digital structured leased lines. The test requirements of TBR 13 cover those of CTR 12, and also tests the frame structure. By testing to TBR 13 the test lab can issue a report against CTR 12 now, and, if TBR 13 is adopted unchanged, will later be able to issue a report against CTR 13. This will save you having to retest when CTR 13 is adopted. I doubt if they will give you the new report without charge, but it will cost much less, and certainly be more convenient than having to revisit the lab just to have the framing checked. Some Notified Bodies will probably accept the report against TBR 13, but we'll have to wait to see which ones do. I hope this helps. Why is it that a telco E-1 product for Europe gets tested to CTR-12 (Common Technical Requirement - the harmonized requirement ? ) and TBR-13 (Technical Basic Requirement - the national requirement ? ) but, CTR-12 results are sent to BAPT and not TBR-13 results?
