Hello Rene: Information I have on Taiwan: Safety: An official standard based on IEC 950 and EN41003 is being developed.
EMC: A standard is being developed based on CISPR 22 and VDE 0871 Class A. Analog standards are based on ITU-T recommendations. I have no experience with approvals in China or Taiwan, but I have more information I would be willing to share if you wish. Contact me at the numbers below. I would also recommend considering one of the approvals guidebooks put out by either BHS or ICC on the Pacific Rim (any others?). All the above are only my humble opinions, and not necessarily those of my employer. Mel Pedersen Midcom, Inc. The last info that I have on China was that the following specs must be met: * YD/T 588-92 (Primary Performance requirements for Speech band modems connected to an impaired PSTN..or something like that, it is in Chinese). * YD 514-92 (Technical requirements and measurement methods for non-speech terminal equipment connected to a PSTN) These were the specs that we had to comply with last year so they may have changed. Unfortunately I left behind the Taiwanese specs from my previous employer but will try to answer any questions you may have...just give me a call. ...Mike ________________ Michael Miele 508-244-8429 [email protected] At 10:25 AM 4/22/97 UT, you wrote: >Dear Treggers, > >I must have discovered a big gap in the knowledge about modem >approval in China and Taiwan.
