Received three new standards proposals of interest to this forum, all drumming
in the same
message, change, change, change:

(1) TIA SP-3580; "Lawfully Authorized Electronic Surveillance"
The Standard defines the interface between a telecommunications service
provider (TSP)
and a law enforcement agency (LEA) to assist the LEA in conducting
lawfully authorized
electronic surveillance. A TSP, manufacturer, or support service provider
that is in
compliance with this Standard will enjoy "safe harbour" status under
section 107 of the
Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA).

For Copies of the draft standard (US$ 136.00), fax Joseph Brown of TIA at
703-907-7727
     (160 pages)

(2) TIA PN-3674; "Type 1, Caller Identity Equipment Performance"
The Standard addresses the technical issues associated with Customer
Premises Equipment (CPE) for on-hook signaling, with ot without power
ringing, which are able
to decode data frames packaged in a Single Data Message Format (SDMF), or a
Multiple
Data Message Format (MDMF). Specifically, this standard addresses formal
criteria
for Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) signals and protocols capable of being
received by such CPE. The standard does not address technical issues
associated with Caller Identity
Delivery on Call Waiting (CIDCW) or Analog Display Services Interface
(ADSI) CPE.
However, the signaling criteria for the latter services are very similar.

For copies, fax Joseph Brown (30 pages)

(3) IEC 74/480/INF, being the preliminary draft for the 3rd Edition of IEC
Publication 950
This is an information document only, not the CDV. This document clearly
shows all
      the proposed changes.

For copies, contact the secretariat of your National Committee on IEC, who
may well
have a considerable charge for this service. (320 pages)
