Hello TREG,

Does anyone know of a U.S. specification for voice levels at the digital
port (T1)? The Europeans specify Send Loudness Rating (SLR) and Receive
Loudness Rating (RLR) for both an analog (e.g., loop start) port and a
digital (E1) port. That is, they specify what the transmit and receive
voice level at each port type is, relative to acoustic levels at the
handset of a phone on the PBX. Is there an equivalent spec. in the U.S.?

We are only aware of an EIA specification for levels at an analog port
(EIA-478), and an EIA specification for PBX loss plan (EIA-464A). If a PBX
meets both these two EIA specifications, one can _assume_ that the levels
at the digital port must be correct. But is there a specification that
directly gives loudness ratings at the T1 interface?

Thanks for you help!
