          What you say about stupid people buying products without CE marking
          would be valid if the only risk of harm from the unmarked product
          was to the purchaser. There must be very few products like that.
          Can you think of one?
          
          ... False teeth, perhaps.
          
          Many people, stupid or selfish, when it comes to saving a few bob,
          consider harm to others very low on their priorities - especially
          when that harm is not personal, such as interference with
          television reception, or reduced quality of PTT service.
          
          Therefore, I conclude that CE marking is NOT a cost increase that
          can be sold to customers at face value (or it is not "value added",
          if you prefer), which is why Euro-Nanny has made it compulsory.
          
          Mind you, making CE marking a voluntary, market-driven device for
          culling everyone not working in regulatory has its points, but what
          would we all do when the good work was complete?
