For a brief description on the RCM and C-Tick, look at Bill Lyons FAQ at
http://world.std.com/~techbook/compliance_faq.html.

In essence the RCM currently requires certification by an electrical
safety regulator for use in Australia, as well as the SMA EMC requirements
which are identical to those for use of the C-Tick.

However, please note that the use of the C-Tick will change from the
1/7/97. As Joh D Cirtus and others have stated, the telecommunications
regulations will change in major ways from 1/7/97. One of the changes
relates to the use of the C-Tick. The SMA and AUSTEL will become one
regulator. The full consequences of the changes are still not clear even
after the conference this week.
