Konrad,

Thank you for the responding.

We are aware TBR 21 is not accepted in Switzerland.

I am designing a very small TBR 21 compliant DAA. I am trying to
determine if the DAA printed wiring board willl need an option to
accomodate the billing tone filters. We must keep the DAA as small as
possible. If Switzerland requires the filters after it accepts TBR 21 I
need to know that now. We do not want to redsign the DAA later to add
filters. Redesigning means re-testing to pass compliance again.
Re-testing is expensive and time consuming.

We were hoping Switzerland would provide external filters like Austria has
done for several years. Sans filters DAA design would be more universal
and less expensive to manufacture.

In my opinion the EU restrictions placed on telecom equipment, well meaning
or not, has caused all EU countries to fall behind the North America in
telecom technology and hardware. As we all know the telecom system in
Europe is fragmented. Hardware and softwaredevelopement is not leading
edge. Sans harmonization of compliance issues this will remain a problem.
Until the EU telecom system is laissez-faire and/or de-regulated it will
not have leading edge technology.

I didn't intend to get on my soapbox.

Thank you again.

Amities

Duane
