Hello Cynthia,

I heard that it was 1st July but the changes taking place are:
1. Stricter surveillance, checking products imported.
2. A switch from FCC to CISPR standards requirements.

A key matter with this is that the responsibility of the approval is
with the importer not the manufacturer to apply for product approval.
The approval is granted by RRL and dialogue and documentation must be in
the Korean language / character-set.

Testing is almost always carried-out in Korea; IBM have five labs in
the US, RRL have no plans to extend licenses beyond those, we tried
for our Cupertino, CA facility.

If this request isn't in response to a cry for help from your Korean
importer I suggest that you contact them and see what their plans
are. Our experience in Tandem is that they are a pretty self
sufficient bunch.

There's a fairly good write-up on Taiwan and Korea from our friends
at the VCCI located at:

Cheers JohnS.............
