IMPORTANT - CORRECTION/UPDATE RE EMC GUIDELINES

Please accept my sincere apologies for unintentionally misleading readers
of s.e.e.c, EMC-PSTC, and TREG by my previous announcement, which
repeated precisely information received via our trade association from
the UK Department of Trade and Industry, but which was incorrect.

Unfortunately, I did not check the URLs myself at the time, but in view
of the apparently authentic source of the information, passed it on
verbatim. Mea culpa!

Alan is perfectly correct. The full correct URL is:

        http://www.open.gov.uk/radiocom/33698.doc

but this contains only a 264,192 bytes Word 6.0 document with the full
text of the Guidelines (60 pages) but NOT the Annexes.

I have asked the Radiocom Agency to advise if they do have the annexes
somewhere on their web site, and if so will publish the URL. No doubt
other friends will also be searching cyberspace for them!

The other URL http://www.tapc.org.uk is currently a private site for the
exchange of papers between members of the UK's Terminals Approval Policy
Committee and although the home page contains some useful links, if the
Guidelines are on this site, there appears to be no way of accessing
them.

My apologies to all who have posted follow-up messages or emailed me
directly. There were so many of you I have felt unable to answer
individually, but hope the above will clarify the situation as known to
date.

Regards to all, and renewed apologies,

Bill.
