REGARDING RE>Just a Reminder for SCPSTC Kamran,
Will there be any minutes/documentation resulting from the environmental discussion made available through this forum? Unfortunately I will not be able to attend but am very interested in global developments regarding environmental legislation. Regards, Kaz Gawrzyjal Nortel [email protected] -------------------------------------- List-Post: [email protected] Date: 4/18/97 2:56 PM To: Kazimier Gawrzyjal From: Kamran Mohajer Santa Clara Product Safety Technical Committee (PSTC), April 22 & May 27, 1997 Meeting Notices Please mark your calendar and join us for the following meetings. List-Post: [email protected] Date: April 22,1997 Time: 7:00 p.m. Topic: Overview of Environmentally Related Product Legislation and Regulations Speaker: Mr. Larry Holbrook, Program Manager for Environmental Product Regulations at Hewlett-Packard Location: Hewlett Packard, 19447 Prunridge Ave. Cupertino CA, Bldg. 48, Oakroom Summary: Product related environmental laws and regulations are increasing at a rapid rate throughout the world. Individual countries have or are proposing legislation for addressing issues such as product take back, energy efficiency, chemical prohibitions, hazardous materials, eco-taxes and eco-labels. The proliferation of individual country specific laws represents major challenges for companies selling into the international market place. Multinational companies need to contribute to the shaping of environmental public policy in their major world-wide markets by promoting the use of guiding principles in policy formation. This presentation includes 1:) an overview of the current global legislative and regulatory environment; 2:) challenges of addressing the proliferation and complexity of these new and proposed requirements and 3:) Hewlett-Packard Company's approach to addressing those challenges. If you are interested in joining the speaker for dinner at El Torito's (by Vallco Fashion Park at Wolfe and Hwy 280), it will be at 5:30 p.m. RSVP to Kamran Mohajer.
