It has just been agreed between the EC Competent Bodies and the EU
Commission and others (protesting) that the implementation date will be 1=

Jan 2001. This hopefully will be formally ratified this time. Until the=
n
the Generic can be applied which shows limits for these frequencies to be=

under consideration. A more detailed response will be available shortly
from the Competent Bodies Association. The Harmonics standard is
undergoing a re write in Cenelec WG 6 and modified test should be availab=
le
in draft form by the Feb/ March timeframe, I am confident that if accepte=
d
the new approach will be an acceptable compromise for Harmonics.

My next big concern is Flicker, if you have not had your product tested t=
o
EN 61000.3.3 it might be wise to try it out as you might find that even i=
f
it passed the EN 60555-3 you may have problems with the new one due to th=
e
voltage variation during the Peak inrush. Let me know if you have a
problem.

Best regards
