An MOU has been signed starting the process toward mutual acceptance of test reports between the US and Europe. Indications are that labs will be required to be certified to Guide 25 or equivalent. Part of the requirement for Guide 25 is to specify the uncertainty of the test results which goes back to include the uncertainty of the calibration of the equipment used.
Does anyone know of a list of cal labs that calibrate EMC equipment ( spectrum analyzers, antennas, LISNs, EFT generators, ESD simulators, etc.) that includes uncertainty factors, with traceability directly to national standards? (Seems like third or fourth layer traceability would create unnecessarily large uncertainty factors). In addition to uncertainty, data in the "as found, as left" format is also desirable to better manage the uncertainty factors. Anyone wish to comment on the above? I am interested in your experiences in this area. Don Umbdenstock Sensormatic Electronics Corporation
