Has anyone attempted to apply to the VCCI to register a test site in the
following manner?

We're renting a 3rd party's OATS site, including equipment (spectrum
analyzer, antennas...) and all, but we staff it and operate it ourselves.
We have our own in-house conducted emission lab that we fully equip, staff,
and operate ourselves.

Until now, we only sought VCCI on a token few NEC Computer unique boards.
We now have a large number of VCCI submissions that we'd need to do, and
we'd rather not pay the registered 3rd party lab to write all the reports
and submit the Conformance Report forms in our behalf.

We have done all the radiated emission work per CISPR, with only conducted
emissions requiring retest at 100 VAC for the VCCI requirements. So there
is a significant cost savings involved, especially if a waiver is offered
on the OATS against the 80,000 Yen registration fee. FYI - we are also a
VCCI regular member, and I have the latest full text of the VCCI rules. I
have noted there are currently two companies with conducted emission only
sites registered with the VCCI - so it should be possible.

I'm interested in any horror stories or unique requirements that may have
been imposed by VCCI officials, and so on. Hints about hosting and
entertaining VCCI inspectors would also be appreciated. Email me direct if
your stories have little general interest.
