I'm wondering if a battery-powered PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) that
has a backlight for the screen would need to be listed to any sort of UL
standard for the U.S. market? I have an HP200LX which doesn't have a
backlight, and it isn't listed. A co-worker has a Compaq WinCE unit *with*
a backlight, and it isn't UL listed either. In some cases the operational
voltage of the backlight could be as much as 200 volts. I assume that
since the PDA is still only powered with two AA-size alkaline batteries,
and this backlight voltage is stepped up from that, there is no safety issue?
