I am designing a line powered unit for use with PSTN lines. This unit will connect between the wall socket and the telephone or answermachine. Where do I get the specs / limits for pstn lines. I.E. what current can I draw off hook? must I use MOV protectors when there is no power connections and the socket has these already? It has no clocking circuitry so EMC is not applicabe.
