I worked for a boss who would convert velocity to 
"axe handles per fortnight" as a joke every now 
and then.  Finally in the middle of a design review, 
the president of the company said in a very serious 
tone, "I don't know why you guys use this stuff! ..."  
My boss discontinued the practice and design reviews 
got very dry after that.
