Where appropriate, the self-certification route is the quickest
and least expensive. For example, our products must conform to the
EU EMC and Low Voltage (safety) Directives.

For EMC, we test to the harmonized European EMC standards at an
approved site, and maintain a file of the test results.

For safety, we obtain a third party CB Certificate and Test Report
to include the country differences listed in the latest Official
Journal. These are to IEC 950 (and IEC 825 for lasers) and the
country/regional equivalents, e.g. EN60950, EN60825, etc.

An EU Declaration of Conformity is signed and kept on file at our
French facility. If requested, we can provide the EMC data and
CB Report to substantiate our DoC.

Obviously this method is not appropriate for some products, or
those without the necessary in-house testing facilities.
