Classical dilemna:

Manufacturers claim they want to have the choice.

Give them the choice, and they get nervous about maikng the right ones.

Can't have your cake and eat it guys.

Just tell your boss that in this life there are businessmen and clerks.
Nothing wrong with a clerk, he takes things from under the counter, gives
it to you and charges you cost plus a small mark up. The clerk hates risk
because he cannot survive on the small mark ups. He therefore is averse to
all uncertainty.

Nothing wrong with a business man. He buys things that he is not sure he
can sell, and if he finds a sucker, he charges the hell out of them,
because he has a ship full of stuff that he isn't going to sell. The
business man takes risks and thrives on uncertainty. It is uncertainty
that keeps him in business.

Now, you have them what are clerks and try to make like business men.
There are all manner of unflattering names for them.
