Roger,

In Mexico there are 2 types of license approvals :Permanent and temporary.
Temporary license agreements are granted much quicker than the permanent
ones, they are valid for 1 year. They may be renewed annually for 2
additional years. Permanent ones are valid for 3 years.Safety Approval to
NOM 19 is required prior to importation and is valid for one year and must
be re-processed annually.
In Brasil limit is 5 years but I'm told that they are considering to reduce
it to 2.

Hope this helps.

TREGgers,

Can anyone advice if type approvals for terminal equipment in Mexico and
Brazil (imported products) are valid indefinitely or if there are any
time limits involved?

I don't mean if they have annual renewal fees (such as BABT in the UK)
but rather if a terminal would have to be re-tested within 10 years or so
due to changes in standards or whatever other reason they can think of.

And what about USA and Canada?

If you have document references to support the information, I will be
extremely grateful......

Thanks,
