The 1976 HP catalog shows an HP-8558B plug-in in an HP-182T mainframe. The combination works from 100KHz to 1300MHz. (1976 cost=$5,800) The 1983 HP catalog shows an HP-8559A plug-in in an HP-853A mainframe. The combination works from 10KHz to 21GHz. The text also says that the 8559A works with 180 series mainframes. (1983 cost=$7,900) It might be tough to find an 8559A. The analog HP-141T/8552B/8555A covers 10 MHz to 18GHz and is much common on the surplus market, with a cost for a decent condition one around $1200. This would be a good choice unless you really needed the digital display. (1983 cost=$20,250) The digital HP-8565A is also more common on the surplus market, and covers 10 MHz to 22GHz. (1983 cost=$25,500) Whatever you buy, you might want to consider the guarantee.
