You are right. There is no harmonized standard for U interface outside
USA. The common interface for BRI is S/T interface That what normally
consumer gets.
The U interface is used by the PTT (telco) for their internal infrastructure.

If you look at the tariffs consumer cannot order U interface, there fore
you need to deal on case by case basis with the
PTT that wants to buy your product-
