I have enough information on BT3 to proceed.
We were having trouble with the POTS splitter of an ADSL modem.  
It was designed to work with a 600 ohm line.  
I will now be able to adjust the splitter to compensate.

Daren is correct. BT3 is the old British Telecoms PSTN 
reference impedance that NZ Telecom use. The Xdsl 
interface should be matched to meet this 
impedance, although they may accept 600 ohms.
