Dear Treggers,

We would like to temporarily connect a PBX-like product that has not yet
undergone the regulatory processes, to public analogue telephone lines in
the United Kingdom. The equipment will be installed for a trial period on
customers' premises, and we are anxious to work within the letter of the law
in order to avoid any possibility of confrontation with the telephone
company. It occurs to us that it might be possible to purchase an
off-the-shelf BABT-approved product that will isolate the connection to UK
analogue telephone lines. The equipment would simply act as a line repeater,
being connected to the PSTN on the one hand, and to our unapproved equipment
on the other. Preferably, the equipment should support at least eight to ten
lines, and should repeat all the functions of the PSTN, including ringing,
loop reversals, and loop current disconnects by the central office.

Does anyone know of available equipment that fits the above description? If
so, where could we purchase it?

Best regards,

David Drori
