According to my information such a system would not be approved for use in Germany. The main reason seems to be that an antenna with undefined length would be attached to a RF transmitter. Because of the undefined length of the antenna the system would act in a way which is unpredictable. Although the system is probably not intended to act as a radio transmitter it will do so anyway. I don't know what regulations are valid in the rest of Europe regarding such a system but I assume that you would get the same response as we got in Germany (information was obtained from Cetecom in Germany). Regarding Japan you could try to obtain information about regulations and whether such a system would be allowed there by contacting Mr. T. Baba (email: [email protected]). Regarding the UK you could contact the Radio Agency for information (Tel: (+44) 171 211 0211, http://www.open.gov.uk/radiocom/rahome.htm).
