Hi Cynthia, In Australia, the approval is now self-regulation. As far as your ugrading from 56K to V90, if this upgrade does not affect the PSTN interface performance of the modem such as DTMF, transmission level, DC characteristic, etc.... You do not need to retest the modem as long as you keep in your compliance folder what have been change from earlier version and enough evidence that the PSTN parameters do not change.
On the other hand, due to the new regulation in Australia You do not have any approval number for the product anymore.
