Thanks Shaniza
Is the move from Jabatan Telecom Malaysia approvals just for Modems? The
original questions were for PSTN equipment in general, this includes
telephones, answer machines, fax etc. We have very recently been dealing
with JTM for digital and ISDN approvals, is this also likely to change?

Thank you for updating us, I will add SIRIM to my approvals contacts
database.

The current organisation is actually SIRIM. Jabatan Telekomunikasi/JTM is
no
longer doing Modem approvals - this dept has actually been dissolved.

Try this site :
http://www.sirim.my/

Tests normally take 1 mth & SIRIM will also be place to buy the controlled
labels. Pls also be aware that you need a permit to bring the samples (for
testing) in.

Thank you!

Shaniza

Hi Jeongmin & Treg
The Malaysian documents that you require and application forms for type
approval are obtained from Jabatan Telecom, The official contact is
Jabatan Telekomunikasi Malaysia, Ministry of Energy, Telecommunications
and Post Malaysia. Further information can be found at the www site:
 http://www.jtm.gov.my/

Hope this helps: Bill Ellingford
