Hi Colin & Treg I have encountered this before on SDH trunk equipment where Red used to be reserved for Major Alarm. Major Alarm usually meant All one signal (AIS). Orange used to indicate Frame or high bit error rate and green for Link OK. I do not however know of a standard for this in terms of specifying the colours but believe it may date back to early BT procurement specs for multiplexer type products.
