Roger, All equipment connecting to the public networks in India requires Interface Approval. In addition, if the equipment is to be sold to the Dept. of Telecommunications (DoT), it will require Type Approval. Approval is overseen by the Telecommunications Engineering Center (TEC). In-country testing is required for all equipment, and the applicant for approval must be a local Indian company.
There are no separate EMC or safety approvals, but TEC will want to see copies of international standard test reports for EMC and safety for reference. Equipment is approved at the system level in India. The specific standards applied will depend upon the equipment's interfaces to the network. Pls let me know if you need more information. -Fred Borda At 09:00 AM 10/4/1999 , Tosto, Roger wrote: >Can anyone advise what approval req';ts are for PBX and Key Systems in >India? >What are permission to connect requirements? >Thanks >Roger T -- Fred Borda Director Marketing & Business Development Compliance International www.typeapproval.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The experts in telecommunications equipment type approval across the Asia-Pacific region ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4713 First Street, Suite 280 Pleasanton, California 94566-7362 USA Tel +1.925.417.5571 (direct) Fax +1.925.417.5574 Mobile +1.650.740.5762 [email protected]
