Hello all, I have been agonizing over transverse balance measurements and if anyone could help I would be very grateful!
When measuring analog transverse balance, first a 600 ohm reference resistor is connected to calibrate the jig, then the resistor is replaced by the EUT. No problem. However in procedure 9.2 of TSB 31B for digital balance measurements, step 1 says, "Connect the EUT AND the reference resistor to the test circuit...," step 6 says "Reverse the polarity of the tip and ring pair under test...," step 7 says REPLACE the calibration resistor with one tip and ring pair. It seems odd to calibrate a jig with an EUT connected. Does anyone have an opinion on when to connect the the reference resistor and EUT?
