Though the limitation is cellular network based, (and I am far from an expert, finding that text messages have now become extraordinarily useful since I use a Treo and were nothing but a pain in the butt prior to Treo), I have found that my Treo (Sprint) breaks larger text messages into several pieces and sends them, effectively getting past the limitation.
Is this behavior typical of all Treos or is it something that is Sprint specific? Rick You wrote: SMS messages cannot be more that 160 characters. It is a limitation of the cellular networks.
