That seems too slow. I have 1600 contacts and if I search in all the
builtin apps (including emails, calendar, tasks, notes, documents0 for a
word that appears seldom (4 hits) it takes about 3 seconds. If I search
for a word that appears all the time it takes about 45 seconds. Still
long, but remember that the builtin Find just splats a screen at a time
across the screen whereas I.F. presents back all search results when
it's done.

I'm on contact with the author if I.F. to see if he might be willing to
make the application a little more Treo-standard in the use of the
navigation controls. He's very quick to respond, but did say that I.F.
is pretty stable right now. Not sure if he'll want to update it or not.
The web site says 9/2005 as the last update, but he really released the
newest version in January, 2006.

I've used it for 5 years and really like it.

Cheers,

Don

I am only searching contacts (DateBK 5)

I have 1000 contacts - only searching first name, last name, company and
notes.

Not a wildcard search, just one word (my last name - matches me and
about 15
other family members)

Takes about 2 minutes.

Hmmm...not my experience. Not sure why it runs at a reasonable speed on
my
700p but not yours.
