Subject: [GTD] Daylight savings change in U.S. and Canada software
updates

Just a heads-up to everyone in the U.S. and Canada, especially those who
use date-dependent software or handhelds (such as Outlook) and/or
smartphones, Palms, Pocket PCs, and Blackberries.

They've changed the schedule for daylight savings so that we "spring
forward" on March 11 (rather than in April) and "fall back" on November
4 (rather than in October). You'll need to update your software and
devices to reflect this change, or your may screw up appointment times
between the new time-change dates and the old time-change dates for this
year and in the future.

You can find the Microsoft patch for handhelds and smartphones here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/daylightsaving/default.mspx
<http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/daylightsaving/default.mspx> .

You can find the Palm patch here:
http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/dst.html
<http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/dst.html>

You can find the Blackberry patch here:
http://www.blackberry.com/DST2007/patch/index2.shtml
<http://www.blackberry.com/DST2007/patch/index2.shtml>

Also, Microsoft has a page about updating other desktop and programs to
reflect the new times, too. You can find it here:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/dst_topissues
<http://support.microsoft.com/gp/dst_topissues>

On other date-dependent gadgets -- including many cars -- you would be
wise to check with individual manufacturers. I know that Tivo will be
providing automatic software updates as part of its regular updating
cycle, but I'm not sure about other products.
