I bought Navigator 5 originally on CD's and installed on SD card. Just bought the Navigator 6 and maps update on DVD and installed on the SD card via a card reader with the new TomTom Home app that runs on the PC (in my case Mac). It's pretty slick. So, my situation is different. But I noticed that during the update process they want you to do a backup, presumably to the PC hard drive via the app. I wonder if you were to do a backup and then restore onto a new, different SD card whether it would then accept new info. They are so tight on security, but my guess is if you get a device code for your Treo and an activation code, you could run from a new card -- which isn't a bad idea even if you can't add new data. Put your card in a reader, launch the Home app. Try to do a backup and see what happens.
