A Slingbox connects to your cable/satellite/tivo (whichever) and your
router. You control said cable/satellite/tivo from your laptop, and very
soon your Palm o/s Treo wherever you are. You go on a business trip to
Hong Kong when your team is playing, it's ok, you just tune into your
local channel via your Slingbox.

There's no recording, no syncing. Unless, of course you want to
tivo...but you can control that from your laptop (and soon your Palm o/s
Treo) too.
